Hazard

The product presents a high risk of fire due to its poor-quality connections with wires soldered directly to the PCB with no secondary means of fixing and easy access to live parts for the user.

If the user were to plug the backlight into the mains, due to the hazard’s poor connections, it poses the risk of short circuiting. If the product were to short circuit, it could cause high temperatures, leading to a possible fire.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Corrective action

The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
