Terms of use

The terms for using Is It Recalled?, including how far you can rely on the recall information and alerts.

By using Is It Recalled? you agree to these terms. Last updated 30 October 2026.

What the site is

Is It Recalled? is a free information site that collects official UK recall notices and safety alerts in one place. The notices come from the Office for Product Safety and Standards, the Food Standards Agency, Food Standards Scotland, the DVSA, the MHRA and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate. We are not a government service and we are not connected to any of those bodies. The site is run by Nocturnal Media.

Always check the official notice

We check the official sources every 15 minutes and copy each notice as accurately as we can, but we can’t promise that every recall is listed, that nothing has changed since we copied it, or that there are no mistakes. Each recall page links to the official notice, and that notice is what counts. If you think you own an affected product, follow the official notice and contact the manufacturer or seller.

  • Nothing on the site is medical, legal or safety advice. Don’t stop taking a prescribed medicine without talking to your pharmacist or doctor first.
  • The car recall checker shows recalls for a make, model and build year. Recalls usually cover specific vehicles only, so confirm with the DVSA checker or a franchised dealer using your registration or VIN.
  • Shop and brand pages are built automatically from the text of official notices. A shop being named on a notice doesn’t mean it did anything wrong.

We’re not liable for any loss that comes from relying on information on the site, except where the law says we can’t exclude liability.

Email alerts

Alerts are free and sent on a best-efforts basis. Emails can be delayed or filtered, so don’t rely on them as your only way of hearing about a recall that matters to you. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Using the site

You’re welcome to use the site for your own information and to share links to it. Please don’t scrape it in bulk, try to break or overload it, or use it for anything unlawful. Recall information is Crown copyright, used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Adverts and links

The site is paid for by adverts, including Google AdSense. We don’t control the content of adverts or of other websites we link to.

Your data

How we handle personal information and cookies is set out in our privacy policy.
