Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire and electric shock as the plug is a ‘Clover leaf-style’ plug and does not meet the constructional or dimensional requirements of BS 1363. As the plug does not have a fuse, under fault conditions the plug may overheat and ignite, causing a fire. The user could also receive an electric shock when inserting or removing the plug from the socket.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
