Hazard

The product presents a chemical risk as the plastic material of the toys contains an excessive concentration of phthalates. A young child playing with the ducks may mouth the toy, taking in phthalates from the toy which can affect a child’s reproductive system.

The product also presents a choking risk as the duck incorporates a squeaker which is considered a small part, and a young infant may place this in the mouth and choke.

The product does not meet the requirements of the REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008 and the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Corrective action

Withdrawal of the product from the market.
