Hazard
The product presents a risk of fire as the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and therefore cannot make a secure connection with the socket. This could cause the plug to arc or spark while in use, leading to a fire. The product is also advertised as suitable for outdoor use, with insufficient instructions to indicate that the adaptor must not be exposed to moisture or rainwater.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
