- What to do
- Contact a Honda Motorcycles dealer to book the free repair. Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the affected fuel pump with a counter measure fuel pump.
What’s wrong
The engine may be difficult to start and / or the engine may stall without warning from fuel starvation and will be impossible to restart. When fuel is present in the fuel pump it causes the surface of the resin inlet cover to deform and swell into a convex shape. The clearance between the inlet cover and the fuel pump's impeller reduces and the two components interfere with each other. As a result the impeller locks and stops fuel flow to the engine.
The fix
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the affected fuel pump with a counter measure fuel pump.

How to check your vehicle
Use the official DVSA checker with your registration number to see if your exact vehicle is included. If it is, the manufacturer should have written to the registered keeper. The repair is free, even if you bought the vehicle second-hand.
