Hazard
The product presents a risk of asphyxiation because the flexible plastic bag used for packaging has an area greater than 100mm x 100mm and the bag thickness measured is less than the minimum specified. A child could place the bag over their mouth, be unable to remove it, and suffocate.
In addition, the yellow toy had a hole in the seam at the back of the head, allowing access to the internal fibrous material. If a child removes and ingests the filling, they may choke.
The attachment loop fitted to the pink toy detached during testing, creating an accessible cord which could become wrapped around a child’s neck, presenting a risk of strangulation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
Owners are advised to stop using the product immediately, and keep it out of reach of children. Contact the seller for a refund or replacement.
