What’s wrong

As part of our continuous product monitoring we have identified that a defined production batch of the link rod for the upper supporting joint has not acquired the required material hardness in the production process due to insufficient inductive hardening. This may reduce the strength of the component and in extreme cases lead to fracture. Even after a fracture the brakes and steering continue to operate so that the vehicle can be driven to a safe location. However a potential fragment may end up on the roadway creating a safety risk for following traffic.

The fix

Check replace the link rod on the upper supporting joint.
